WASHING MACHINE PROBLEMS
STRANGE SOUNDS
The most common type of washer repair is for strange noises coming out of the machine. Repairmen knows how to diagnose the source of the strange sound and determine whether we should repair or replace the broken parts. The cause of the noise is usually due to a worn-down motor or worn belt or bearings.
WON’T TURN ON
When your washing machine won’t turn on or agitate, take a look to see if it’s not plugged in or if a circuit breaker is flipped off. The issue could also be from a broken door latch, thermal fuse or timer. A washer that does not turn on or agitate means the agitator cogs, coupler, drive belt or the transmission need immediate repair or need replacement.
DOESN’T SPIN
A washer that doesn’t spin means there is something wrong with the wax motor, door latch or motor coupling. Tate Appliance Repair will repair these problems quickly and have your washer spinning again very soon!
OVERFLOWING
The typical causes for a washing machine overflowing is either the water level pressure switch, water inlet valve or the air dome tube on the appliance.
NO HOT OR COLD WATER
A broken temperature control switch or inlet hose is usually the reason a washing machine will not produce cold or hot water.
DRYER PROBLEMS
STRANGE SOUNDS
The most common dryer problem is strange sounds coming out of the machine. Broken bearings, seals or worn-down belts often lead to strange sounds from dryers.
DOESN’T HEAT
A dryer that does not generate enough heat to dry laundry is not very helpful. The reason for the issue is either a broken high-limit thermostat, heating element or cycling thermostat. The same parts might also cause a dryer to be too hot. Our repairman will inspect the appliance to uncover the issue and solution.
WON’T TUMBLE OR TURN ON
If your dryer doesn’t turn on, you first want to be sure the dryer is not unplugged and all of the circuit breakers are flipped on. If the appliance is plugged in and still does not turn on or tumble, the heating element, high limit thermostat or cycling thermostat will likely have to be repaired or replaced.
WON’T SHUT OFF
The exact opposite issue happens when the dryer doesn’t shut off. The cause of this particular problem is either a broken timer or door switch.
TIMER WILL NOT ADVANCE
A dryer timer is required to advance in order to complete the drying cycle. If the timer will not advance, it might mean there’s a broken timer motor or cycling thermostat.
